Atlanta is fortunate to have a beautiful skyline, convenient access to lakes and mountains and a city sprawl filled with restaurants, old homes, and artistic spaces to accommodate special celebrations. We all know the coveted Swan House. We envy the couple who selects the Georgian Terrace Hotel for their big day, or the young boy who celebrates his Mitzvah at the Aquarium. But, let’s not forget some of these incredible spots that can host intimate gatherings and larger groups. They each have preferred vendor lists, a talented staff, beautiful backdrop and style – making your event unique and photo-worthy.
The Solarium is located in Decatur in the quaint Oakhurst neighborhood. Designed by acclaimed Atlantan architect, Neel Reid, in 1918 who is also known for building the Alexander Hotel, Atlanta Amtrak Station and many homes in the Ansley Park neighborhood. The Solarium offers a lot of natural light and provides a beautiful backdrop of Georgian Revival architectural details. If cost savings is a priority, this venue should be at the top of your list.
Orchids abound at the Atlanta Botanical Garden. Options range from the Edible Garden Outdoor Kitchen, a Japanese Garden, the Sourwood Terrace and Canopy Walk and many more. Here is a complete list.
The Fernbank Museum has been booked by brides and we most certainly recommend it for corporate, Mitzvah and birthday gatherings. Who doesn’t love dinosaurs?!?
5Church Atlanta is located in Midtown. Home to Jamie Lynch, chef, of Top Chef. The restaurant offers a private indoor space and a rooftop.
A step back to a simpler time of gatherings. If vintage interiors, bowling, and vibrant, ample space appeal to you, The Painted Pin is your next venue go-to. A fun space to entertain kids or a place where grownups can be a kid, The Painted Pin in Miami Circle offers a full bar, bocce, Ping-Pong and Skee-Ball. Did you see those chesterfield sofas and candy spread?!?!
Maybe one of the less obvious places to get married is Stone Mountain Park. We know it for its beauty and hiking, but there is also an antebellum estate and formal garden.
If all else fails, just call Legendary Events. Led by Tony Conway, Legendary offers full service design, catering and florals … As well as a venue: The Estate by Legendary Events. Conway has catered to major executives, celebrities, and brides since 1997.
